Aspirin For Dogs? – What You Need To Know!
Also The Truth About Tramadol, Rimadyl, Previcox…
FLEXPET The Safer Alternative?
Seeing your dog in pain is the same as seeing one of your family members suffer. The first thing you want to do is take away their pain, but how? Dogs can suffer from many different ailments including arthritis and hip dysplasia in dogs that may cause noticeable pain in their joints. To relieve this pain, many people consider giving their dogs human aspirin. To better explain if this is safe for your dog and what kind of aspirin is best for their pain,
Dr. Randall has outlined what you need to know not only about aspirin for dogs, but prescription medications like Tramadol, Previcox, Rimadyl, Galliprant and others.
Warning – Aspirin is not recommended for long term use.

Is aspirin safe for dogs?
Dr. Randall Explains – Watch This Video!
Is it Safe?
This is a common question all animal lovers ask at some point. Is it okay to give to your pets? Baby aspirin can be relatively safe for dogs provided you adhere closely with the correct dosage and you don’t use it for long-term treatment. Human aspirin can be given to dogs, but should not be used for over a maximum of 5 days. Dog aspirin also has a recommended duration of use. Be sure to follow the instructions on the bottle of the brand you choose to use, and confer with your veterinarian.
Aspirin may be an option for immediate pain relief and swelling in dogs. However, paying close attention to any side effects and symptoms that may occur afterwards is imperative. Dogs cannot tell you verbally if they are having complications, therefore it’s your job to keep an eye on how they feel after taking it. It is never okay to give to cats; it is considered toxic for them.
Dr. Randall recommends Flexpet as the #1 pain relief solution.
Dr. David Randall graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and began his career alongside his father, Dr. Lewis Randall, at Big Cypress Animal Clinic. The senior Dr. Randall established the clinic in 1977 and the younger Dr. Randall always knew that he would follow closely in his father’s footsteps.
Having lived in Florida for most of his life, Dr. Randall has raised two beautiful children and has been blessed with four grandchildren. Over the past 25 years, the Big Cypress Animal Clinic has become well-known as one of the most trusted veterinarian facilities in Southwest Florida. Maybe it is because for the past 10 years, Dr. Randall has produced and hosted the ‘Dr. 4 Pets’ television show, which delivers advice and support to animal lovers and pet owners throughout Southwest Florida.
Side Effects of aspirin on dogs
As long as you cafefully use the recommended dosage consistently, the likelihood of side effects is reduced. Minor side effects such as lethargy, loose stools, and loss of appetite may occur. Although these aren’t serious, you may need to discuss them with your vet as it may signal the beginning of a more serious problem. Aspirin for dogs is known to irritate the stomach. Also, bleeding or ulcers may occur. If your dog experiences black stools or vomits a dark substance, this may be a sign of internal irritation or bleeding, which needs immediate medical attention. If too much aspirin is given, or dosages are given too close together, there is a risk of organ damage.
Aspirin for dogs with arthritis should not be used to treat ongoing joint problems because it contains acetylsalicylic acid which can destroy cartilage when used for extended periods of time. They do not recommend aspirin for any dogs that have a blood clotting disorder or condition that causes them to bleed easily because aspirin is a blood thinner.
Caring for your pets is one of your number one priorities and we understand why. Making their lives comfortable and fulfilling can be achieved through knowing the signs and symptoms of their pain and treating it accordingly. Now that you have more information on aspirin for dogs, we hope that you will be able to make informed decisions about giving it to your dog when he or she is in pain. Aspirin dosage for dogs
According to fidosavvy.com, the recommended dosage for dogs taking human aspirin is between 5mg and 10mg per pound of body weight, given twice a day (once every 12 hours). It’s helpful to know that a standard adult size aspirin is 320 mg and a baby size is 80mg. If your dog weighs 40 lbs, the recommended dosage for him would be 200 mg, or 2.25 baby aspirin. Anything over 30mg per pound is considered toxic. Getting the dosage correct is imperative, especially when treating small dogs. Young puppies aren’t able to metabolize pain medication as well as adult dogs, and their liver and kidneys are immature, meaning they often need a lower dosage per lb of body weight than an adult dog. A large breed puppy may need less medicine than a full grown mid-sized adult dog of the same weight.

Please clarify: You say “… 40 lbs, the recommended dosage for him would be 200 mg, or 2.5 baby aspirin.” Then you add “Anything over 30mg is considered toxic.” Are you saying that the recommended dosage for this animal is in fact toxic??? Thank you for your time.
Hey Debra how are you? Sorry we realized that we had left out “pound” after 30mg, So… corrected “Anything over 30mg per pound is considered toxic.”
Debra it reads anything over 30mg per pound is toxic. So if he is saying 200mg is the dosage recomended that is 5mg per pound for that 40 pound dog.
Thank you for your info I My dog needed something this morning , I contacted a vet on line this morning asking the dosage and they wanted $5. before they’d answer, so I gave her an 81mg but she only weighs 71/2 lbs and her stool was brown n runny. but I gave her chicken baby food n pediolyte n yogurt one or 2 teaspoons. I pd a vet $142 yesterday to see her and she only examined her gave fluid n antibiotic n referred us to someone else.she wouldn’t do xray or blood work just money hungry with no remorse at all for the dog, she’s a long haired Chihuahua n im on disability that was my car insurance money, most of these vets are animals themselves, money hungry, money hungry, what goes around will surely come back atcha that’s why there’s so many animals in shelters…my dog could hardly stand , walk ,or wag her tail. another animal er in Selden, New York said theyd call the police if you cant pay at time of service …so glad God is watching,,,,,i’ll trust HIM !!!!!!
I took my 4 lbs Chihuahua (14 years old) to vet for rabies shot and he told me to give her 1/4 baby aspirin for her arthritis and she is doing great. looks like you gave your dog to much. Looks like you gave to much.
Patricia Kennedy, I disagree strongly with your word choice. You say “most of these vets are animals themselves, money hungry…” Why insult animals when you’re writing on a site that’s FOR animals?? Maybe you meant that “most of these vets” (Not MY pets’ vets; they’re all wonderful, btw!) are greedy. To compare someone to an animal when you’re saying something negative is very disrespectful of animals. Only humans are greedy and “money hungry,” NOT precious animals.
I can not say it any better, humans are greedy, no comparison to animals.
Sorry for ur bad experience,Read your story just a little too try to google “free vet visit” ,”first visit free”, free pet exam” you’ll be surprised at how many deals pop up and you will find more competitive pricing that way too, in comparison to kinda throwing a dart in the phone book
P.S. the humane society is never free but very low priced, however times may vary but expect to have a 1 – 2 month wait to be seen, but it’s non-profit and normally state/county run.
Good luck!!!
My dog is 20 pds.. What’s a dosage amount for him?
Baby aspirin are 81 mg each. Two baby aspirin would be 162 mg. For a 20 lb dog, 162 mg divided by 20 lbs equals 8.1 mg per pound, which is just about right (between 5 mg and 10 mg per pound is recommended).
Yes the information here is to help, but we always recommend you talk with your veterinarian before administering any type of NSAID to your pet.
my dog is about 25 lbs. he has arthritis ive been giving him baby asprin one in morning and one before bedtime roughly 12 hrs apart. is this okay for him
Ok, my Nala will be 12 this year. How maney baby asprin can I give her a day? Can’t afford vet right now. She is getting up slow and limping. Thank you
Baby Aspirin dosage depends on the weight of the dog. We have some information above. Just make sure that you don’t use it as a long term solution, which could have harmful effects.
My dog is 11 pounds. What would be the dosage for her?
Good.
It say n e thing over 30 mg per pound is fatal
That is 30mg. PER POUND the dog weighs.
good info
I have a puppy that fell. Everything that I can see and feel points to a sprained muscle and just pain and in need of a little relaxation. I really don’t want to spend hundreds for a special vet with limited or no more options then rest, special expensive meds and heat. Can she just have baby aspirin to help her relax the muscle? She is not putting any weight on it now and we are keeping a heating pad on it at night to help it relax as well. She weighs only 6 pounds, so I know she can only have a little aspirin, but would like for her to have something that would help relax the muscle along with the heat while it heals. The bones are fine and I can move it gently and know that she has a point that she gets to that it begins to hurt when it is stretched a too far.
Heat increases inflammation, which she probably has due to the sprain. Ice would be better, time is really the best medicine.
My 8.8 lbs, 9 year old Chihuahua pup was not feeling well. Took her to the vet. X-rays, blood work were done. Paid $439.87 including tax for this one visit. Vet prescribed an antibiotic to administer every 12 hours for one week. Very small bottle of liquid antibiotics which lasted 3 days. Did call this AM regarding small amount of antibiotics, and was told I could go pick up another bottle. No Charge! Could not believe when I was told how much charge was. I told the lady “You must be Kidding!” But, NO, She was not Kidding. I used credit card to pay. Antibiotics have helped her very bad breath. Do not recall vet telling me why he was prescribing antibiotics.
I think my little Dachshund would like this. I have a very difficult time trying to get any medication in her.
I have a five year old Colorado bulldog who gets achy in the shoulders when it gets cold.
My bulldogs shoulders hurt when he jumps in and out of the truck. Will this work for him?
Yikes that might be high for a bull dog no? Flexpet definitely works for aches and pains, but maybe some sort of ramp would help him get in and out. How old is he?

My dog is a 13 year old Labrador retriever who is suffering from arthritis in her hip. I can’t afford to buy arthritis medicine for her long term. Ive been told before that dogs can take baby asprin for an extended period of time. Is this not true or safe? If not, what is that is cheaper?
Yes long term aspirin is not the answer. You can give Flexpet a try. The price is reasonable, it should help your dog with arthritis issues and we offer a money back guarantee if it does not work for him.
I already lost a dog for hip displasia. I have now a 9 years and a 6 months old doggies, and I am giving everyday a joint supplement.
I give my 12 year old terrier a Glucosamine supplement every day, can I give Flexpet in addition to this supplement?
Can you give flex with cosequin? (Chrondritin, glucosamine, manganese )
Yes, you could give Flexpet to your pet along with Cosequin. However, we recommend that you consult your vet before making any changes to your dog’s medication, supplements, or diet.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
I have a small dog that has trouble getting up and down from the chair and couch I hope this helps.
What about a cat? Aspirin will kill a cat. The web site says this is good for a cat.
It is correct that Aspirin is very harmful for a cat. Flexpet is a natural supplement and is intended for cats and dogs. Although we highlight dogs more often on this site due to the nature of our customer base, you can safely give it to your cat as well.
Our dog suffers from an old hind leg injury and the older she gets, the more flare ups she has. It’s good to know there’s something we can give her to help releave the soreness without subjecting her to a stronger medication.
I have a 8 year old dog that has joint pain so I would like to get it for her.
I have a large German Boxer that we rescued several yrs ago now from being trained for dog fights. He is just over 100lbs and approximately 7yrs old now. He lives downstairs with our oldest daughter. We have noticed in the last several months he is starting to show some struggling when going up and down the stairs to go outside to the rest room. I am assuming he is starting to get some arthritis. Would this be something good to try for him? He doesn’t seem to be hurting often just certain times like changes in weather as we live in the north. If this would be beneficial, please send a sample. Thank you for your time.
Yes, Flexpet is especially good for dogs with arthritis. Even if it’s not a constant pain, you dog should see relief from those difficult times with regular dosage. I have an older german shepard who has problems in the winter with his back legs and hips. What do you suggest?
Hi Tony. This sounds like a joint issue that Flexpet should be able to help with. Try the sample (scroll up a little and the form is on the left) and see if he’ll take the pills. Most dogs will, but we know that some can be fussy. If he will, try a bottle. You should see results in about 7 days. If it doesn’t work, you have the option of returning it.
Thanks for being her to help us out be really appreciate all of you…Denise

I have a Teacup Chihuahua that weighs 4 1/2 pounds. Is she too small to be given a baby aspirin?
We do not recommend giving your dog a baby aspirin, though we realize it can be used in the correct dosages for short term treatment. However, fidosavvy.com says the recommended dosage for dogs taking human aspirin is 5-10mg per pound of body weight. A 4 1/2 pound dog then comes to approximately 22-45mg. Being as a baby aspirin is 80mg, you’re really looking at half a tablet or less. In this case, it is not something that we are comfortable recommending.
Thank you for the clear and concise pet care information, and free sample.
You’re welcome!
My old dog will benefit from this.
Can’t wait to try this for my 13 year old dog
Can’t wait
We have a 12 year old great dane. His arthritis in his joints is awful. Luckily he doesn’t have stairs to go up or down but just lying down and getting up is very difficult. Would love to try this

I have an 13 years old pug
Will it work on my 10 year old cat? I read all the comments and nothing about a cat. What would be the dosage? I would like to try a free sample but to afraid to. She weights about 15 lbs
Hi Deborah. Yes, Flexpet is for use with cats as well. Though we primarily talk about dogs, as they are more prone to some of these aging issues and therefore a larger part of our customer base is dog owners, this is certainly a product that should help your cat.
I have a 12 year old pug that has really started to get around a lot slower these days so very excited to give this sample a try to see if she will take them! Might be a great route for us to take for heranything to help!
Thanks for trying a sample, Cindy. Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Our vet has us give our jack Russell Benedryl for allergies. Is it safe for him to take Flexpet and Benedryl together?
Great question, Cheryl! It’s perfectly fine. Taking Flexpet is like using an anti-inflammatory and an omega 3 fatty acid for lubrication for the joints. It has nothing to do with Benadryl that would interact with it.
Hope that helps!
I have a 2 year old American Pitbull.
My dog is 8 years old with bad attitude in hips.
thank you for the offer. id love to try a free sample for my 25 lb pug bailey. he has chronic pain problems related to cushings disease
Absolutely, Amanda! You can get a sample by filling out the form on the left hand side of the page. Remember, the sample is more to test the product and make sure your dog will take it. To see the results, you’re best bet is try the “on-the-go” offer. It’s only $12, and you should be able to see results after the first week. Please let us know if you have any questions! -AW
Thank you for the free sample
You’re Welcome! -AW
Thank you for the free sample it nice to know you

No problem. Happy to help! -AW
16 year old American Eskimo. Just want to make her comfortable.
If she is having joint pain, this should help. This usually happens in dogs as they get older, especially larger dogs. I recommend that you try the sample to see if she would take it (we know how there are times here and there where dogs can be fussy!), and then to try a bottle of Flexpet. There is a money back guarantee if you order through the site and it doesn’t help. Please let us know if you need anything else!
CANNOT WAIT TO LET MY SEVEN YR OLD SCHNAUZER TRY THESE!
little bit of arthritis in her left leg. Limps and vet said that perhaps a bit of aspirin would be helpful.
Of course, we encourage pet owners to go to their vets and follow their instruction. However, if you are giving your dog aspirin, please be very careful. It can be helpful as a short term solution, but is not recommended for long term results. For long term help, especially the kind needed for arthritis, we recommend a natural supplement like Flexpet.
Thor can benefit from this.
Hello, I have tried several times to sample this product, so I will try once more. I have a chihuahua who is of indeterminate age, She is a shelter rescue. My vet estimates her age at about 11 or 12. She has luxating patellas like many chihuahuas, and the fact that she spent the first half of her life in a small cage as a puppy mill breeder dog doesn’t help. I have noticed she is beginning to show difficulty jumping on the couch( I never allow her to jump off anymore, I always pick her up for that reason) and in the mornings she is sometimes a little “gimpy” at first. I am also looking for a more natural and safe remedy, especially since she is so small. My sister saw your ad somewhere and directed me here, I watched the video and it seems like just the thing to help my ChiChi. So please, send us a sample please, so I can see if this is the product I have been looking for, to help my little dog.
Hi Kari. We would be happy to send you a sample. If you could kindly fill out our sample request (see link below), we can get that out to you. However, our sample is primarily to see if your pet will take Flexpet (and not spit it out, leave it, etc.). If you would like to see results, we recommend trying “Flexpet on-the-go”, which is an inexpensive 7 day supply. By 7 days, you should see results.
We also have a guarantee on the Flexpet bottles if you want to try for one month for the full effect. If it does not work, you can just send the empty bottle back for a full refund of purchase price.

Please let us know if we can help further.
MY DOG OAKLEY WEIGHS 104lbs. SHE HAD TROUBLE GETTING UP…BUT SHE IS 13 YEARS OLD. I HATE TO SEE HER IN PAI
I’m so sorry to hear. It’s very tough watching an older dog in pain like this. If you think it’s a joint issue, try a bottle and see how it goes. At the end of the month if you don’t feel like it has helped, you’re welcome to send back the empty bottle and we’ll refund the purchase price of the product.
may I please have some free samples? thank you
I’m sorry Shelly, we are all out of samples at this time. However, if you would like to try Flexpet, we have a trial size with a reduced cost so you can see if the product works. You can also buy a bottle, and if you’re not happy with it, you can return it for a full refund of the purchase price. -AW
My bully named tiny has been sick I feel bad for her I would really like to try a sample to see if it would help her
When you say that she is sick, can you describe what seems to be wrong?
Would like to try before buying.I heard about your product on the internet real interest in your product.
We recommend picking up a bottle and trying it for a full month. If you don’t feel that the product helped, you can return the empty bottle and we’ll refund you the purchase price, no questions asked.
If that’s too much of an outlay to start, you can also get the “On-The-Go” trial size. That will last a full week and has a lower price point. In a week, you should have a good idea of whether or not this is helping. -AW
NEED this for my older dog please
I have a Brittany that is 12 years old and he hurts really bad so I’m willing to try anythimg>
We hope this helps! Let us know how it goes!
I have a Black Lab/Boxer/Golden Retriever Mix 110 lbs, He is 12 years old. Is it safe for him to take the Flexpet?
Sounds like he’s a good candidate for it! – AW
please send me a free sample
I’m sorry, we are all out of free samples at the moment. However, if you would like to try Flexpet and buy the regular bottle, we will refund you the full purchase price of the product if you aren’t happy with the results. -AW
Ummm, are they “money hungry”? Or wanting paid for their services after attending 8+ years of college. Let’s not be ridiculous. If you want DIY pet care, then by all means, continue googling for your needs. But let’s not expect professionals to donate their time and resources just because you’ve managed your money, resources, life, etc poorly and can’t pay your car insurance. Shame on you.
my dog Marley is having trouble getting around like he used to kill groundhogs and he doesn’t even think about it and his only 8 yrs old.
I’m sorry to hear that! Sounds like Flexcin may be something helpful for him! -AW
would like the free sample. How do you get it?
We are sorry, we are all out of free samples at this time. However, if you try the standard bottle of Flexpet and are not happy with the results, you can send back the empty bottle for a full refund of the purchase price. -AW
My dog is a 100 lb American bulldog. She is 14 an has her share of pain from old age. I’ll try and see how she does. My girl has a sensitive tummy so hopefully she’ll do well.
Hope it helps, Joan. Let us know how it goes!
My Dog is around 65 lbs. Do I give him a full 325 ml.
is that a one pill a day?
For Flexpet, that’s a general rule. However, dosage may change depending on size of the dog (obviously a 150lb Rottweiler will take a different amount than a 7lb chihuahua)
is that a one pill a day?my dog is 11 or 12 years old.how much asprin do i give him?
hope it works
Us too! Let us know how it goes!
My Morkie was attacked last Wed. after hours & my vet had me give her a quarter of a baby aspirin for pain. She weights @bt 7-8 lbs!
My Shepard is 12 years old. Has severe arthritis in her spin, No hip issues. She has dry eye issues and muscle loss on her head and has progressed. She has severely changed her movement and now displaying minimum movement hard getting up, walking, going down stairs, etc.. Breaks my heart. I had previously taken her to the vet, which blood work, scan etc., was given. She has arthritis in her spin and muscle loss issue. She is now not doing well, Her walking and movement is not good at all. She still will walk around our acreage but not easily. Her vision is almost gone as well. I am now giving her aspirin and this diffidently made her more comfortable for now. I was told human medicine was first tested on dogs, and most medicine is interchangeable with dogs. She wont live long so not worried about long term effects, but if it makes her comfortable why not.. Sometimes dog prescription is not all that great due to side effects.
I have a Shepard husky mix….she is 12 yrs old. Her hips are bothering her…has hard time walking at times…she will just fall down every so often…what is the best thing I can do or give her. Thank you Debbie.
Honestly, it sounds like she is a very good candidate for Flexpet. We would strongly recommend it in a case like this – which seems highly linked to joint pain. Remember that we have a 100% guarantee, so if it doesn’t work for your dog, you can send us back the empty bottles and we’ll give you a full refund. -AW
Can I see a list of ingredients before I commit to buying please?

I would like to see this work for my dogs
Give it a shot! We do have a money-back guarantee on the product. If you don’t feel that it has worked, you can send us back the empty bottles for a full refund.
this is awesome
Requesting free samples . Thank-you.
I’m sorry, we no longer have free samples of the product. However, we do have a 100% money back guarantee, so if you feel that the product did not perform in alleviating pain in your dog, you can send the empty bottles back for a refund and there’s no risk to you.
HI, I have a 58 pound boxer. What would the dosage be for him. Chronic swollen wrist… 🙁
Hi, Do you still have the free samples? I have a 13 yo cat that broke his femur (right at the ball) and hip when he was about a year old. They removed the ball from the femur and he has been doing well but has slowed down considerably in the last two years since My husband and I lost our home (where Rascal had lived his whole life) and then I lost my husband. If you could please reply to my email and let me know I would greatly appreciate it. Rascal was just like a kitten until we left our home – he still doesn’t act like an old man, but he is moving slower and he is all I have now.
Respectfully,
Jan Vafa
Hi Jan. Unfortunately, we no longer have free samples. However we do have a “It works or it’s free” guarantee. If you try Flexpet and aren’t 100% satisfied, you may return the empty bottles (up to 3) and we will refund the full purchase price.
My poodle weighs 12 1/2 lbs 6 years old, has a limp in hind leg. How much aspirin can I give him til I can get vet appt?
I’m looking for something that will help my labs hip pain.
Hi Judy. Flexpet is an excellent fit for helping with hip pain in dogs. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and joint lubricant, and works to strengthen joints. We’ve even seen it create a remarkable difference in dogs with hip dysplasia. If you’d like, you can purchase a bottle of Flexpet (actually, up to 3), and if you don’t feel that it worked, you can just return the empty bottles for a full refund of the purchase price.
If you have any specific questions, please let us know.
100 to 200mg no more
My dog is 100 lbs how much baby aspirin do I give him?
My Mastiff is about 155lbs and all I have is Bayer Aspirin tablets (325mg). How much would you suggest I give him for pain? His hips and joints are so bad, and I know he is in pain when he will not eat. Thank you for any assistance. I just want him to have some relief.
Because of the side effects of Aspirin, we strongly recommend not using aspirin as a long term pain solution. Please consult your vet about this.
As far as Flexcin is concerned, we would recommend starting with 4-5 tablets per day for the first week, and adjusting down as necessary, likely to 4 pills, once his system is loaded up. You can then adjust to more or less as you think he needs it. Since this is an all-natural supplement, you can use this long-term for pain without the same side effects as Aspirin.
My dog has Lyme’s disease. He goes through bouts where he can barely stand. You can’t touch him to help him because he cries. Sometimes he cries if it looks like someone is going to touch him. He cannot get up and down off of the furniture. I’ve taken him to the vet. They have taken Xrays and cannot find anything wrong other than the pos Lyme’s disease test. They gave him an anti inflammatory medicine and Tramadol. They will refill the Tramadol without an appointment but not the anti inflammatory. Will your product help him?
Yes, Flexpet should help. It is a natural anti-inflammatory and pain reliever, so he should be helped on both of those counts. It also helps to lubricate the joints, and should make movement easier for him.
I think this would help my dog he has hip and leg pain I hope it help him nothing has helped sofar
I’m so glad to find you flexpet.I have a precious morky that just had e birthday sept 4 she’s 7years old. I just paid $300.00 at the vets.yikes that hurt she’s worth every Pennie.I love my girl so much!! My therapy pooch.she’s 6pds and is not fixed..my choice. Anyway I was told she has ostreo arthritis setting in,but her blood tests were excellent!! Thank God.anyway they sent me home withMetacam .just to take a week. I have more leftover. Now that its getting real cold outside.I think she’s aches. Do I give her a dose or what mg of baby aspirin can she have.also I’m going to check on the joint flexpet.please reply my girl is sooooo loved.she’s my baby!!! Thank you
First, we do need to instruct you to speak with a vet before giving anything to your dog, and need to mention that baby aspirin should not be used for long term. With that said, according to fidosavvy.com, the recommended dosage is between 5mg and 10mg per pound of body weight twice per day (standard baby aspirin size is typically 80mg). We strongly recommend Flexpet for longer term use if it is a joint/ache issue, especially forms of arthritis, because it is much safer (being an all natural supplement), and is highly effective.
Thank you very much! Aspirin is a good medication for the treatment of dog arthritis but before taking this medication you should concern your vet.
Thank you.
I am interested in supplements for 10 year old cat.
My dog is on rymadel. She weighs 130 (Great Dane). She has arthritis in her tail and knees. She is a rescue and her age is guessed at 6 or so. Her meds require blood work every 6 months but traveling is painful for her. Is there something in your product that can relieve her discomfort? How can I be sure she’s not in pain?
Cost wise–$85/2 mos supply of current medicine. Would this be more cost effective?
Yes, this can certainly help. Flexpet is very effective with arthritis pain. What we would suggest is to start giving her Flexpet, and after the first 2 weeks or so, slowly weaning her off the of the rimadyl.
As far as cost, you’re looking at something fairly comparable, but maybe a little bit more. We have a buy 2, get 1 free deal, which comes out to 180 tablets for $79.99 (if you like the product, we do offer a further discount for the auto-ship program). However, based on the size of your dog, you’re going to be looking at about 4-5 tablets per day (likely 5 in the beginning, then drop down to 4 after the first few weeks).
Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any more questions. You can also call our customer care team at 1-800-505-0575
Hi, my boy is 109 lbs, how much should I give him?
I have a 12 year old morkie that is on enacard 2.5 twice a day and tussigon 5 mg half twice a day He has a very enlarged heart and causes his tracia to close he coughs and hacks until he gets to breathing right again, he also is moving slow will this be ok with his other meds he weighs about 15 bs. I am wondering if it will also help with his heart being so big will this help shrink it too?
We always recommend talking to your vet before starting any new medication or supplement. However, Flexpet should not interfere with any medications your pet is currently on. Unfortunately, it will not help at all with his heart though. It really just affects the joints with inflammation, pain relief, and lubrication.
Really want to try this for my 17 year old chihuahua.
Thamk you. i have dachsunds with hip and shoulder issues, so this helps.
Hey Adam from flexpet… Many sites offer free samples and when clicked on bring me here but Im unable to locate the free sample link on your page. Can you direct me to that sample so I can see if its something my 5lb Chihuahua can tolerate or benefit from before I drop 80 bucks on the bulk buy offer ?
Hi Bill, I apologize for the delay. The comment notification did not come through.
Unfortunately, at this time we no longer have samples available (we are still trying to figure out why other websites are offering free samples of our product). However, we do have a money back guarantee (up to 3 bottles), and will refund the purchase price if you’re not satisfied for any reason (including that your dog just won’t eat them). Just send us back the empty bottles and we will send out the refund.
Hope that helps!
Have a 12 year old lapsa with arthritis in his hips and back this may be useful for. Please help my baby.
My yellow lab is allergic to chicken and turkey. He gets ear infections from chicken and turkey. . Is your. Product flavored with either of these? Thank you.
No, but it does use pork liver flavor.
Good Afternoon,
I have not heard of Flexpet before, but am excited to see the combination of ingredients in one tablet! I have a rescue that we don’t know her history, age or breed, but she’s a great furbaby. Mayah is approximately 9 years old & has tendencies of a Flat-coat Retriever (loves ducks!). She has had signs/symptoms of arthritis for the past few year and has been treated with rimadyl, tramadol & benadryl.
My question is this: How would you recommend introducing Flexpet & weaning her from these meds?
Thanks, Toni Corkrin
(Tried to load a picture of Mayah, but I couldn’t)
Thanks Toni. Sorry we don’t get to see her! Feel free to post her on the FB page if you’d like 🙂
As far as Flexpet, we of course recommend that you consult your vet, especially when it involves prescription medication. However, as an all-natural supplement, Flexpet does not interfere with other medications. Most of our customers that have had dogs on other medications have given their dogs Flexpet along with the medications their dog is currently on, and slowly weaned their dog off the medication while taking Flexpet. I would recommend 1-2 weeks before beginning to wean your dog of current medication, as this gives time for Flexpet to load up in the system and begin to take effect.
Feel free to call our customer care team at 1-800-505-0575 if you want to talk through this further. They’re super friendly and love to help!
I have a 7 year old (approx..she’s a rescue) that seems to be having trouble jumping and running like she used to. Looking for something to help but I don’t want to go as far as harsh medications just yet!!
That’s a case where we would recommend Flexpet. If your dog got stung and had some pain, etc. Flexpet really isn’t the solution. For an older dog with joint pain, Flexpet is a good call (and we guarantee it works – if it doesn’t, we’ll give you a full refund). It’s all-natural, so there’s no “harsh medication” or adverse reactions with your pet.
Please let us know if you have any specific questions. We’d be happy to help. You can also call us at 1-800-505-0575.
so my dog wight 225 lbs great dane so i need 1225 mg for him then
Hello, I was hoping for just a sample of your product. A website has displayed that if you scroll down and fill out the form you will get a free sample. I’m interested because I have an English bulldog who has started limping occasionally. I’d like to see if this helps before I truely invest. Thank you for your time
Sammi & Opie
Hi Sammi. Unfortunately, we do not have any more free samples. We’ve been telling these sites this for months, but they refuse to take the pages down 🙁
However, we do have a money back guarantee, so if the product does not work, you can simply return the empty bottles (up to 3), and we will give you a full refund of the purchase price.
They said anything greater than 30 mg per pound is toxic
It’s 30 mg over the recommended dose per pound. I.e. 40 lb dog is 200 mg. 230 mg and higher would be toxic. That’s why it’s important to get dosage as close as you can.
waldo is my best friend! tried alot of supplements . if your product helps? im taking him to a steak house, thanks!!!!
Let us know how it goes! What’s wrong with Waldo?
I think it was meant to say 5 to 10mg per pound, and if you gave over 30mg per pound was toxic.
My 4 yr old Yorkie got her vaccinations today and now I can tell she is in pain but it is night and the vet is closed. She weighs 10 lbs. can I give her 1 baby aspirin or should she not have it because of just getting vaccinations?
Would this help my 10 yo chihuahua? Vet has had her on Prednisolone Syrup 15mgs/5 Ml in varying times – 0.3mls every 12 hrs for 5 days. Then 0.3mls every 24 hrs for 5 days. Then 0.3mls every other day for 3 doses.
She has a back disc issue. She has a kidney issue. He said he knows this steroid is not good for her kidney and we needed to make a decision.
Chance possible further kidney issues by giving her the steroid and, have her able to walk or, not give her the steroid, no further kidney issue but also, not able to walk.
He preferred she be able to walk without pain to strengthen her muscles..
He said if this does not work, she will need disc surgery ($3,000.00) but, he said she is high risk because of her kidney issue and, a yr and a half ago when I took her in to get her teeth cleaned, they did blood work before surgery to make sure all was well with her and she could withstand being put under general anesthia for the cleaning and it was found out she has a heart murmur.
I would prefer to give her something for pain that is natural. What do you honestly think, Flexpet? will this product work for her?
This is certainly worth a shot, especially because of the kidney issue. It won’t have the same negative effects with the kidney, and could be a very good alternative. We have also had a good number of customers who gave this to their dog to replace Prednisone with very good results – you’re just going to want to wean the dog off of it slowly as you start Flexpet.
Absolutely try it. If it doesn’t work, we’ll give you a full refund of the purchase price of your order (up to 3 bottles). Also, if you have any further questions, call our customer care team at 1-800-505-0575. They’re excellent and really helpful talking through issues like this!
Can I give my dog aspirin for a week or two along with flexpet, while the flexpet starts to kick in.
Outside of any of the normal risks of aspirin, yes, this should be fine. Flexpet will not interfere or interact with existing medications.
haha animals aren’t greedy? We’d like to think that. my female will eat her food as fast as a frogs tongue flicken in a pack of flies then go over to the slow eatin* dogs and take theirs. Ever see some predators after a kill? The alphas eat first and what’s left is for the others.
I have a 76 lb pit bull and she hurt her back right leg this afternoon. I can’t get into the vet till Monday but need to know ASAP how many baby aspirin to give her for her pain. She is limping around and crying here and there because it hurts. Please comment back ASAP
So sorry to hear! The recommended dosage is between 5mg and 10mg per pound of body weight given twice per day (once every 12 hours) according to fidosavvy.com. However, we need to tell you that you need to consult your vet before giving any medication to your dog.
Hope she’s feeling better!
I deffantly want to try.
HELLO
I just adopted a “Fire”-rescue lab/pit mix and i think he’s still a puppy about eight months-1 year old. He was found in one the large wildfires here in California. He was mostly singed around his eyes and a couple of spots on his shins. Plus he just got neutered last Thursday. He ran out of his prescribed pain medication last night. We gave him one 80 mg ASA this AM. Is it safe for him to take this for a short term basis like the next week? I ask because your article stated something about the safety of ASA for puppies. i believe he is approx 40 lbs. and i think he’s
My lab cant continue on walks anymore and has an even harder time getting back in to my vehicle..we could usa all the help we can get
Would love tk try this product
Hi
I am emailing from New Zealand. My 8 yr old GSD has elbow displacea in both front legs. Have tried a lot of difference drugs from my vet, but nothing helps. I just want him to be pain free or less pain for as long as possible.
What would you recommend please. Flexpet, Previcox, Deramaxx and Rimadyl do not ring a bell with me for what he has been on.
Thank you.
Hi Carol. Of course, we’d recommend Flexpet for your dog 🙂 Part of it will depend on if you want to go with a prescription from your vet, or if you want to try something natural first. Flexpet is an all-natural supplement, and does not require a prescription. It’s also guaranteed, or your money back. If you have any specific questions, we would be happy to help. Just email customercare@flexcin.com and we can answer any questions you may have.
